NEWDATE!! 110 – Introduction to Writing Emergency Plans

October 24, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join the AzCHER team in the newly developed “Introduction to Writing Emergency Plans” training! This training details the preparedness and response components necessary for planning within the emergency management cycle.

Register in advance for this meeting here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

All-hazards emergency plans are important for healthcare organizations to ensure they are properly planning for emergencies while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Emergency plans may be called different names such as an Emergency Preparedness Plan, Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), or Emergency Response Plan (ERP). However, they share core objectives and should detail how the facility implements the emergency management principles of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery and the personnel, authorities and other details of program administration.

Healthcare system planners must ensure their plans account for the current and changing landscape of requirements, regulations, threats, and hazards. Complying with standards and following the plans will help healthcare entities reliably respond to and recover from disasters, as well as work cohesively and effectively with emergency management partners.

This training will include an overview of key Emergency Preparedness Plan and EOP considerations as they align with Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) licensure requirements and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness Rule requirements.
