SUMMARY:Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) Functional Exericise
DESCRIPTION:Valleywise Health Medical Center – Main Campus will be conducting an in person HERT Functional Exercise on October 23\, 2025. \nSpace is limited so sign up as early as possible. After the selection process has been completed\,  AzCHER will send you further instructions regarding how to register for this CDP HERT exercise and other related information about the exercise. Individuals that have not been selected for the October 23rd exercise will be saved for future courses. \nDeadline for registration will be October 16\, 2025. \nEach student must provide their own PPE (HERT) including protective suit\, hood\, PAPRs\, boots and gloves etc…. Please check your equipment before arriving to the training. \nValleywise Health will not be providing any PPE equipment. \nStudents will follow the CDP and Valleywise Health code of conduct throughout this exercise process. \nIn the future\, ACHER will be conducting HERT training programs throughout the state of Arizona. Emergency plans may be called different names such as an Emergency Preparedness Plan\, Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)\, or Emergency Response Plan (ERP). However\, they share core objectives and should detail how the facility implements the emergency management principles of mitigation\, preparedness\, response and recovery and the personnel\, authorities and other details of program administration. \nHealthcare system planners must ensure their plans account for the current and changing landscape of requirements\, regulations\, threats\, and hazards. Complying with standards and following the plans will help healthcare entities reliably respond to and recover from disasters\, as well as work cohesively and effectively with emergency management partners. \nThis training will include an overview of key Emergency Preparedness Plan and EOP considerations as they align with Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) licensure requirements and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness Rule requirements.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row]
