SUMMARY:Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) Training
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Valleywise Health Medical Center – Main Campus will be conducting an in person HERT course on November 6\, 2025. \nThe Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents – Basic is a one-day course that provides foundational knowledge for healthcare personnel on how to effectively support mass casualty operations within the hospital setting. \nThis comprehensive training equips hospital responders to establish and manage an Emergency Treatment Area in the event of a mass casualty incident (MCI)\, particularly those involving chemical\, biological\, radiological\, nuclear\, or explosive (CBRNE) contamination. Key competencies include: \n\nSelection and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)\nImplementation of triage protocols for both ambulatory and nonambulatory patients\nExecution of decontamination procedures in accordance with federal and hospital protocols\nEffective coordination as a member of a Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT)\nThrough a combination of lectures\, hands-on activities\, and scenario-based exercises\, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to respond safely and effectively during high-consequence events affecting their facility and community.\n\nSpace is limited so sign up as early as possible. After the selection process has been completed\,  AzCHER will send you further instructions regarding how to register for CDP HERT training and other related information about the course. Individuals that have not been selected for the November 6th training course will be saved for future courses. \nDeadline for registration will be October 30\, 2025. \nThis will be a full day event and each student must provide their own PPE (HERT) including protective suit\, hood\, PAPRs\, boots and gloves etc…. Please check your equipment before arriving to the training. \nValleywise Health will not be providing any PPE equipment. \nStudents will follow the CDP and Valleywise Health code of conduct throughout this training process. \nIn the future\, ACHER will be conducting HERT training programs throughout the state of Arizona.
