AzCHER Webinar: How to Comply with CMS Emergency Preparedness Requirements
June 3, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
THE REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS CLOSED.
Now more than ever, providers need to be aware of their requirements to both have and effectively implement an emergency preparedness plan. These plans are not limited to pandemics like COVID-19, but also include a variety of natural disasters and other adverse events that can seriously disrupt the provider’s business operations and patient care services. To this end, AzCHER has worked with its Compliance Consultant, The Nelson Law Group, PLLC, to prepare the AzCHER Emergency Preparedness Toolkit. This Toolkit provides various documents and resources designed to help providers comply with the Medicare Conditions of Participation, licensure, and accreditation emergency preparedness requirements applicable to their provider type.
The Toolkit includes helpful information such as:
- Applicable Emergency Preparedness Plan Requirements and Checklists, by Provider Type
- Top Emergency Preparedness Medicare Conditions of Participation Citations
- Sample Emergency Preparedness Risk Assessment
- List of Common Waivers Granted in a Public Health Emergency
- Helpful Emergency Preparedness Resources
The Toolkit will be available for distribution on June 1st and is available to AzCHER members without charge.
In addition, on June 3, 2020, AzCHER is hosting a one-hour webinar for AzCHER members in which Julie Nelson, Esq., Compliance Consultant from The Nelson Law Group, will educate providers on these various requirements and provide information and best practices to help participants achieve compliance. Participants in this webinar, entitled “How to Comply with CMS Emergency Preparedness Requirements,” will come away with a better understanding of the government’s expectations for provider emergency preparedness plans, a detailed understanding of the Medicare Conditions of Participation emergency preparedness requirements, enforcement, and best practices for compliance. In addition, participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions, either in advance or during the presentation, which will later be answered by our Compliance Consultant and released as Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
