COVID-19 Virus Information

The Arizona Coalition for Healthcare Emergency Response is working closely with federal, state, and local public health agencies to provide pertinent information to the healthcare community about our COVID-19 response.

Arizona Department of Health ServicesStay up-to-date on statewide statistics by viewing the Arizona Department of Health Services’ (ADHS) dashboard. These numbers are updated daily. 

ADHS has compiled useful information for healthcare providers, facilities, and partners, including diagnostic testing, coding, exposure, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidance. COVID-19 preparedness guidance for hospitals and primary care providers has been outlined by Dr. Cara Christ, Director of ADHS.

Members who prefer to view online materials in Spanish are now able to access COVID-19 en Español. Social media graphics and infographics in English and Spanish are available.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has provided several types of guidance for healthcare providers and facilities on its website.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed an Enhanced Surveillance Advisory Executive Order calling for hospital reporting of Essential Elements of Information (EEI) daily into EMResource, a critical surveillance tool managed by the Arizona Department of Health Services. The American Health Care Association (AHCA)/ National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) has developed a COVID-19 website to provide the latest guidance, resources, and communication tools for Long-Term Care facilities. Other resources, including the COVID-19 Preparedness Checklist and Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations for Patients with Confirmed COVID-19, may be found on the CDC website.

Local facilities can consult Disaster Ready, a program created by the Arizona Health Care Association to assist Long-Term Care facilities in emergency preparedness. Facilities are encouraged by Disaster Ready to consider establishing an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) with their incident management team. For questions, please contact them by email.
